BlazerJobs is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a flexible position in Fort Walton Beach, FL. This opportunity offers the option to work 3 days per week (7.5 hours/day) with the potential for full-time hours if desired. In this role, the SLP will serve as a resource to school staff in developing a balanced program for oral communication and speech improvement.
Position Overview:
- Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL
- Position Type: Flexible Schedule – 3 days per week (7.5 hours/day), option for full-time
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, typical school hours
- Caseload: Elementary and/or middle school students
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language services to students, focusing on oral communication and speech improvement.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language disorders.
- Conduct speech assessments and evaluations to identify communication challenges and design appropriate intervention plans.
- Serve as a resource to school staff, providing guidance and support in the development of strategies for improving students' oral communication skills.
- Work closely with parents, teachers, and other specialists to ensure students’ progress and consistent application of strategies both in and out of the classroom.
- Monitor and track student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to meet individual goals.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on speech and language goals and accommodations.
- Foster a positive, supportive environment for students to improve their communication skills and confidence.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) License in the state of Florida.
- Previous experience working with students in a school setting is preferred.
- Ability to assess and treat a range of speech and language disorders in children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a school environment.
