Position Summary
General Summary/Responsibilities
The Home Care Aide is a paraprofessional member of the health care team who works under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform basic nursing tasks as assigned.

- Must have completed the ninth grade and be able to read, write and follow written instructions and document care given.

- Passport personal staff must have obtained a high school diploma or completed GED equivalent

- ESP or Elderly Services Program staff must have obtained a high school diploma or completed GED equivalent.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Must have completed a basic aide training program and possess a Certificate of Course Completion or have one year hospital or skilled nursing home experience. The basic aide training program must meet OBRA 87 requirements. Medicare, Medicaid, and Waiver aides must complete a two part competency evaluation. (Part 1 written, Part 2 demonstration of skills.) The score on the written portion must be at least 70% or greater. Private pay and Passport aides
