Summary:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Connecticut, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team, providing direct patient care and supporting the overall delivery of quality healthcare services. Working under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) and other healthcare professionals, LPNs contribute to patient well-being through skilled nursing interventions and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
·Patient Assessment and Monitoring:
·Conduct initial patient assessments and gather relevant medical history.
·Monitor and record vital signs, observe changes in patients' conditions, and report findings to the healthcare team.
·Medication Administration:
·Administer prescribed medications and treatments following established protocols.
·Monitor and manage medication side effects and reactions.
·Wound Care and Procedures:
·Perform dressing changes, wound care, and other nursing procedures as directed.
·Assist in medical procedures and examinations.
·Collaboration and Communication:
·Collaborate with registered nurses, physicians, and other healthcare team members to plan and implement patient care.
·Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
·Documentation:
·Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health records.
·Maintain up-to-date and organized patient records.
·Patient Education:
·Provide patient and family education on health conditions, medications, and self-care.
·Ensure patients understand and adhere to prescribed treatment plans.
·Emergency Response:
·Respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and initiate appropriate interventions as necessary.
·Follow established protocols for emergency situations.
·Infection Control:
·Adhere to infection control practices and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe healthcare environment.
Qualifications:
·Licensure: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Connecticut.
·Education: Completion of an accredited practical nursing program.
·Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting is often preferred.
