Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) - Martinez, GA
Job Type: Full-time, Contract
Hours: 37.5 hours/week
Student: Elementary School
Requirements:
- Valid Sign Language Interpreter certification
- 3.5 EIPA requested (will consider candidates with lower scores actively retaking and working toward improving)
- Experience in providing 1:1 support for elementary students
Responsibilities:
- Attend classes with the student and interpret instruction/auditory information; at times, reteaching may be necessary so redelivery of info may be required. Assist with communication during social interactions with hearing peers.
- Support communication between the student and their teacher(s)
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with the student’s IEP team to ensure that the student’s educational goals are met
