Opportunity Highlights:
1.Assesses respiratory patient in order to determine physical and emotional care needs and capabilities.
2.Makes adjustments to inpatient care regimen to assure individualized effectiveness according to the patient's needs and capabilities, through use of protocols or physician contact, as necessary, to assure appropriateness of care.
3.Educates patient and/or caregivers to provide understanding of physiologic processes affecting their condition, the lifestyle modifications necessary to maximize health, the appropriate use of equipment and medication utilized in their care.
4.Works in conjunction with physician to provide respiratory consultation to assure implementation of appropriate and effective care orders and protocols, and to obtain meaningful diagnostic information.
5.Reports all adverse effects to include signs and symptoms of respiratory dysfunction from therapies and medications given.
6.Ensures 50% attendance on an annual basis at the regularly scheduled staff meetings.
7.Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
8.Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.This includes, but is not limited to:security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.
9.Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements.
10.Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organizations values.
11.Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
12.Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The individual in this position reports to the Intensive Care Unit Director. This position works closely with Nursing and Medical Staff in order to provide quality respiratory care.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Education:
a.Graduate of AMA accredited two (2) year Respiratory Care Practitioner education program (or equivalent criteria for state regulatory requirements).
License:
a.CRT, RRT eligible, or RRT credentials from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), and State of Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner Certification/License.
Certification:
a.Current ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications. Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within 30 days of hire.
Experience:
a.Two (2) years postgraduate acute care respiratory care experience preferred.
Financial Package:
- Compensation: $37.55 - $53.84 Depending on credentials, years of experience, and internal equity
- $15,000 sign-on (less than 3 years exp $7,500 sign-on) and $5k relocation bonus
