Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Certified Pharmacy Technician Chemotherapy Specialist, you will be responsible for assisting pharmacy staff in all daily activities related to department workflow while knowing and acting in accordance with established policies and procedures.
What you will do in this role:
- You will assist in the procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of non-hazardous, hazardous, and cytotoxic medications. You will maintain the ability to use all equipment and technology necessary to fulfill job responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
- You will be responsible for assisting in the procurement, preparation, delivery, return, and restocking of medications. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Compounding parenteral non-hazardous, hazardous, and cytotoxic medications
- Cleaning and restocking the IV room areas prior to the end of each shift
- Restocking the pharmacy and returned medications, assisting with putting away pharmacy orders, and assisting with inventory management/notifying the Buyer or Technician Supervisor of stock-outs and borrowing medications as needed in a timely manner.
- Filling automated dispensing cabinets, filling code cart trays and pharmacy kits
- Filling, compounding, and delivering oral non-hazardous, hazardous, and cytotoxic medications
- Assisting with investigational drug dispensing and compounding
- You will also facilitate exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers and are responsible for contributing to a positive work environment.
What qualifications you will need:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
- State Registration Pharmacy Technician, or Licensed Pharmacy Technician
