Position Title: Special Education Paraprofessional/Teaching Assistant Hours/Shift: 7:55a-3:25p Monday Friday Job Description/Role Responsibilities: Paraprofessionals will work either 1:1 with students with a range of individual, special needs or in a larger group setting in various programs STARS (autism) LSP (Life Skills Program). Individual students needs could vary from students with autism, down syndrome, deaf/hard of hearing, visually impaired, wheelchair bound, and many others. It is the role of the paraprofessional to serve as a dedicated support to their student to help with any number of tasks throughout the day to ensure that the student receives the best educational experience possible. Tasks could include carrying books, helping a student set up for class, taking notes, providing additional academic support, personal hygiene/care, as well as a number of other supporting tasks throughout the day.
