RRT is required. Staff rotate throughout the hospital to all areas. Every patient ordered on respiratory services receive an extensive assessment and care plan (Patient Driven Protocol). Care is then determined by the therapist. Patient education is completed also. Specialized protocols include COPD, lung cancer resections, NIV, and Vent management. Respiratory therapists also transport all ventilator patients to and from the ICU, ED and OR. BiPAP transports also occur on critical patients. Vents used: Hamilton G5, Hamilton T1, and Care Fusion Velas. NIV: V-60, Visions. Ideal candidate is someone who can adapt quickly and keep the pace. Critical thinking skills are imperative. Therapist must be able to assess patient thoroughly and establish care plans. Detail oriented is a must, as is the ability to work as a team.
