WESTWOOD-MANSFIELD PEDIATRICSJob Description Integrated Behavioral Health ClinicianGeneral DescriptionAs a member of the Westwood-Mansfield Pediatrics clinical staff, the Behavioral Health Clinician will provide behavioral health services, within the scope of their licensure, to patients and families, and serve as an integral member of the clinical care team. The Behavioral Health Clinician will also coordinate behavioral health services beyond the practice walls, and provide medical clinicians within the practice with consultative support.RequirementsMasters degree in social work or mental health counseling, or a Doctoral degree in psychologyCurrently licensed at the independent practice level for the discipline (without restrictions)Maintain an active professional license in the individuals professional disciplineMinimum of three years clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families, experience in a pediatric primary care, or other pediatric medical setting is strongly preferred.Experience with cognitive behavioral, group, and family therapies is desirable Must be eligible for contracting and credentialing with all insurers, including MassHealthExperience using an electronic health record is desirableUnderstanding the concepts of behavioral health integration in primary care and the medical home is highly desirableFamiliarity with community-based behavioral health resources in the Westwood and Mansfield area is highly desirablePrinciple Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical DutiesBuild professional clinical relationships with patients and families whose primary care providers refer them for behavioral health servicesProvide evidence-based, short-term interventions, to patients and families with identified clinical needs in accordance with established professional and programmatic standards and treatment models Evaluate children with positive behavioral health screens to determine need for further diagnostic assessment and need for behavioral health services Provide consultative support to pediatricians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the practice on requestParticipate in the creation of an integrated, individualized plan of care for children with behavioral health needsMaintain up to date documentation in the practices electronic medical recordProvide documentation as required for approval of behavioral health services by health insurersWork to expand your clinical knowledge of primary care pediatricsWork to increase the medical clinicians knowledge of community-based behavioral health services and programs Develop a common language with medical providers that facilitates seamless integrated careKey Integration ResponsibilitiesBuild working relationships with all members of the practice staff and with integrated behavioral health clinicians located in other participating PPOC practices.Participate with other practice staff in the Behavioral Health Learning Community activities run by the Pediatric Physicians Organization at Childrens Hospital (PPOC), including:-Monthly in-person trainings and webinars-Clinical supervision as required by the PPOC-Other meetings and events as neededIn collaboration with primary care providers, and other members of the care team, provide behavioral health coordination of care services to patients and families, including but not limited to:-Internally, through shared referral processes with the Medical Home Care Coordinator and referral management staff-Externally with community-based behavioral health providers and agencies, including school-based providers, that serve the practices geographic area-Vertically with Boston Childrens Hospital or other community of care partners when inpatient or high-intensity referrals are indicated-Bi-directional work, coordinating care into and out of the medical homePhysical RequirementsWork requires regularly standing, stooping and bending.Work requires regularly reaching and grasping objects below shoulder level, frequently reaching and grasping objects at shoulder level and occasionally reaching and grasping objects above shoulder level.Work requires regularly grasping and fine manipulation with hands.Work requires regularly proofreading and checking documents for accuracy and inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer system.For certain positions the ability to drive /travel between two clinical sites is a requirement
