Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mental health issues and be skilled in providing support to individuals virtually and in an office setting. This role requires a commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for clients, utilizing therapeutic techniques to promote their well-being.
Duties
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address clients' emotional and psychological needs.
- Utilize a variety of techniques to encourage clients in their personal growth and development.
- Assess client needs through interviews, observations, and clinical assessments.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on client assessments and tailor them to the needs of a diverse client population.
- Document and maintain accurate records in our EHR in compliance with ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and practice timelines.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance professional skills and meet CEU requirements.
- Engage in clinical research to stay updated on best practices in psychotherapy and social work.
Requirements
- Master's degree in counseling or mental health from an accredited program.
- Current Virginia LPC License. (Will accept LSATP or CSAC if also a registered LPC resident)
- Commit to a minimum of 12 clinical hours per week.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of counseling.
