Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for a full-time contract position in a school-based setting in Yelm, WA for the upcoming school year. This is a wonderful opportunity to support students with special needs while ensuring compliance with local and state regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to evaluate students’ occupational therapy needs, focusing on fine motor skills, sensory processing, and other functional skills necessary for academic and daily living success.
- Provide direct therapy services to students, working to enhance students’ independence in classroom and daily activities.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with varying needs.
- Monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans as necessary to ensure goals are being met.
- Assist students in developing social-emotional skills and improving their daily living skills.
- Provide guidance and training to parents and school staff to ensure consistent support across all environments.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Occupational Therapist license in the state of Washington.
- Experience working with special education students and families is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of IEP development and the special education process.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping students achieve success.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly rate of $44-$48 per hour, paid via weekly direct deposit.
