Job: Electrician
Hours: Part-Time, Days- 7:30am-4:00pm (20 hours- Flexible Schedule)
Location: Suburban Outpatient Pavilion- 2100 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, 17601
Summary:
- Position Summary: Primarily performs installation, repair, and maintenance to electrical distribution system equipment. Additionally, provides a wide variety of mechanical, plumbing maintenance and installation duties. Includes using technical training and acquired skills as well as prints, schematics, technical manuals and departmental procedures to maintain physical plant, equipment and systems.
- Qualified individuals must have the ability with or without reasonable accommodation to perform the following duties:
- Performs preventive maintenance duties such as inspecting and testing for condition or abnormalities, and making adjustments or replacing components when required.
- Performs electrical distribution system troubleshooting and repair of commercial institution-type setting. Troubleshoots and repairs electrical equipment and lighting.
- Repairs and installs conduit, and wiring, switches, receptacles, and other common electrical equipment.
- Inspects incoming electrical equipment for inclusion in the Utility Equipment Management Program.
- Inspects and repairs electrical motors, appliances, and equipment.
- Orders required repair and installation parts and materials for maintenance and project purposes.
- Reviews prints, drawings or layout information for new installations or modifications and diagnostics.
- Maintains current proficiency in operating and implementing procedures for fire, security and utility emergencies includes electrical, HVAC, water, steam plumbing and telecommunications .
- Communicates, verbally and in writing with peers, staff, and customers to expedite workflow, facilitate scheduling, resolve problems, and enhance productivity.
- The following duties are considered secondary to the primary duties listed above:
- Repairs electrical items as may be required to maintain patient area equipment.
- Services and repairs motors, and electrical distribution equipment.
- Repairs and makes adjustments on conveyor and tube systems.
- Installs, maintains, and repairs various call signal systems, nurse call, intercom, paging systems, etc.
- Performs general electrical and mechanical duties as directed, including preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Performs preventive maintenance duties such as lubricating equipment, replacing repairing component parts, and adjusting regulating equipment.
- Participates in the on-call responsibilities for this position as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Trade School and or apprenticeship.
- Valid PA Driver’s License.
- Five 5 years commercial institutional maintenance.
- Five 5 years commercial institutional construction.
- Eight 8 years hospital construction maintenance.
- Eight 8 years master or journeyman trade status.
