Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) has an outstanding opportunity for a Part Time Acute Care Advanced Practice Provider to join the Trauma team and work alongside some of the best medical providers in Philadelphia.
Located in the Pavilion for Advanced Care at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, Penn's Level 1 Trauma Center serves as a vital gateway for traumatically injured patients, offering vast resources, the latest technology, and expertly trained staff. Having a Level 1 Trauma Center designation means that we have every available resource needed to provide total care for any aspect of severe injuries.
Trauma Advanced Practice Providers (APP) at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center (PPMC) provide geographic coverage on Cupp 4 East Trauma floor. The APP functions autonomously and in collaboration with health care professionals to diagnose, treat and manage patient’s health problems. They independently develop diagnostic decision-making skills which allow for accurate assessment, appropriate intervention, diagnostic reasoning, and care planning with a holistic approach. This position is 4 – 10hr shifts per pay period; every other weekend, 1 summer & 1 winter holidays per year. As an APP on the Trauma, you will work with six other APPs and ten surgeons.
Trauma APP function under the guidelines as designed by Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and service under the medical staff guidelines. The CRNP or PA-C hired by the Department of Advanced Practice will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating physician who has initiated a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the collaborating physician/division designee and within the Human Resource guidelines.
The CRNP or PA-C, while providing quality care across the continuum in collaboration with physicians, nursing staff and other members of the care team, performs histories, physicals, and procedures according to credentialing, and provide care and patient/family teaching following the nursing process. Also participates in research as appropriate, ensures regulatory compliance, documents care according to standards, and prescribes by following the collaborative agreement and State regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active licensure or eligibility in the Commonwealth of PA and eligibility for credentialing by the medical board required
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Physicians Assistant Masters of Science degree required
- The CRNP or PA-C must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board
- National Board Certification required.
