Job Title: Travel Respiratory Therapist
Location: Rockford, IL
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Duration: 13 Weeks (Potential for Extension)
Shift: Nights

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Travel Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team in Rockford, IL. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality respiratory care in a variety of clinical settings while exploring the vibrant city of Rockford. As a travel RT, you will work on a temporary contract basis, gaining experience across different healthcare facilities, while enjoying competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

Assessing Patient Needs: Perform thorough respiratory assessments, monitor vital signs, and identify respiratory complications to create effective care plans.
Therapeutic Treatments: Administer respiratory treatments such as oxygen therapy, nebulizer treatments, and mechanical ventilation support.
Equipment Management: Set up, maintain, and monitor respiratory equipment like ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen delivery systems.
Collaboration with Medical Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care strategies.
Patient Education: Provide guidance and education to patients and their families on respiratory conditions and treatment plans.
Documentation: Maintain accurate patient records, documenting all assessments, treatments, and interventions in accordance with facility protocols.
Emergency Response: Be prepared to assist in critical care situations, such as intubations, CPR, and emergency procedures.

Requirements:

Current Respiratory Therapist License: Must hold an active license in the state of Illinois.
Certifications: Must possess a valid RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) or CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) credential. BLS and ACLS certifications are required.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
Flexibility: Must be comfortable with variable shifts and adapting to different work environments in various healthcare facilities.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Travel Experience (Preferred): Previous travel experience is a plus but not required.
Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move patients, work in fast-paced environments, and stand for extended periods.
